Priscilla Leyva, LPC Associate

Supervised by Rosalie Piedra, LPC-S, RPT-S

“As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I know the importance of being seen, heard, and supported in ways that feel authentic.”

Hi! My name is Priscilla Leyva, an LPC-Associate who works under the supervision of Rosalie Piedra, LPC-S, RPT-S. My mission (both personally and professionally) is to create an affirming environment and offer spaces that are intentionally different from traditional settings – spaces that center safety, connection, and self-expression. All at a pace that is comfortable for you (or your child)! I offer a variety of ways to engage in the therapeutic process, including play therapy for children, walk-and-talk sessions for clients who prefer movement and nature, and virtual therapy for those who may want more comfort and accessibility. These spaces allow us to connect in ways that feel natural, comfortable, and grounded in your unique needs and rhythms. I’ve spent the past decade working closely with autistic individuals across all ages. That experience – both personal and professional – has deepened my understanding of neurodivergent communication, sensory needs, and the importance of honoring each person’s unique way of moving through the world.

Some niches of mine include:

●  Sensory Processing and other ND Topics
●  Anxiety & Stress Management
●  Queer & Gender Identities
●  Career Counseling & Life Transitions
●  Executive Functioning Skills
●  Selective Mutism & Separation Anxiety

I take pride in using an integrative approach, where I pull from different modalities in order to find what works best for you! This style allows us to add more ‘tools to your (or your child’s) toolbox’ and learn which job calls for which tool!

Some modalities or theories that I pull from:

● Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
● Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
● Gestalt Therapy
● AutPlay ™
● Strengths-Based Approaches
● Mindfulness
● Client Centered Play Therapy

As a bilingual therapist, I offer services in English and Spanish, and I’m committed to culturally responsive, inclusive care. Whether you’re navigating big emotions, exploring identity, or just needing a space to breathe and be, you’re welcome here, just as you are!!
