“You deserve to be accepted for who you are and should not have to hid any part of yourself. I hope during counseling, you can learn self-compassion and to view yourself in a positive light.”
Welcome and thank you for being here! I know how difficult it can be to find the right therapist and to take this step. I hope to support you and your family in this journey. I’m a child therapist with a passion for supporting kids, teens, and caregivers through every stage of growth and healing. My approach is client-centered and play-based, designed to meet each individual where they are. I integrate trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness to help children build emotional regulation, resilience, and strong, healthy relationships.
Experience
Before becoming a therapist, I spent five years in education, teaching Pre-K through 5th grade, including special education classrooms supporting children with autism, behavioral challenges, and communication needs. I later worked as a family facilitator, helping parents navigate the school system and advocate for their child’s needs. These experiences deepened my commitment to working holistically with families and inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Counseling at St. Edward’s University. While completing my degree, I worked in residential care, building relationships with children as they processed trauma and worked toward emotional healing and connection. During this time, I received training in several trauma-informed models, including SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression), TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and regularly incorporated play therapy into my practice.
My Approach to Therapy
I work with clients from all backgrounds, including neurodivergent youth, children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, or behavioral challenges, and families navigating foster care or adoption. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive space where children and families feel seen, accepted, and empowered to grow.
