Welcome! So glad you found us! Therapy can be like having a trusted guide for a journey. It’s about having a dedicated space and a partner to navigate your own path. Honest, open conversation can help untangle thoughts, understand emotions, and find new ways forward. The hope is to create a safe space to explore and walk this path together.

Experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working under supervision to obtain my LPC and Registered Play Therapist RPT credential. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where I earned a B.S. in Applied Learning & Development, better known as Elementary Education. I graduated from Lamar University with my Master of Education in Counseling and Development in August 2023. With 20+ years of educational experience, I’ve served students and families from early childhood to adolescence. Currently, I am an elementary school counselor who loves learning about the brain and neuroplasticity. I am excited to begin my journey with Mindful Connections and I look forward to meeting you!

Clients I Serve & My Therapeutic Approach

I view therapy as a collaborative process where the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work. Building a strong, trusting relationship is a vital first step. I believe in working together to hold space and tap into individual strengths, resilience, and existing resources. My work with young children includes expressive techniques like play, art, games, and music. With older children, we often explore how to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and emotions that contribute to problematic behaviors through CBT. Principles of neuroscience and trauma informed care guide my work with children and adolescents. Utilizing different modalities allows me to meet clients where they are.
