Carolyn Moreau, LCSW (She/Her/Ella)
“As parents/guardians, you are the most important person in your child’s life! Parenting is hard work and also can be a great joy. It takes courage to reach out for extra support for your child. Your involvement in child therapy can strengthen your relationship and support your parenting skills, improving your child’s well-being and family life.”
“¡Como padre/guardián legal, usted es la persona más importante en la vida de su hijo! Ser padre es un trabajo duro, pero puede ser una gran alegría. Se requiere mucho valor para pedir ayuda adicional para su hijo. Su participación en la terapia infantil puede fortalecer su relación y mejorar sus habilidades como padres, mejorando el bienestar de su hijo y la vida familiar.”

Prior to joining Mindful Connections, she worked as a bilingual school social worker and a parent educator/coach providing individual and group counseling and support for families and children to thrive and succeed. She grew up in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. Carolyn has a Master’s of Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Westmont College.
“Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” — Gary L. Landreth.
Carolyn believes that play therapy rooted in an empathetic, caring, safe and consistent relationship with the child has great healing power. Play is a natural (and fun!) way for kids to express what they are feeling, thinking or worried about. In her work with children, Carolyn draws on techniques from child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy, expressive art, bibliotherapy, therapeutic games, Theraplay-informed practices, trauma-informed and mind-body practices. She brings curiosity, creativity, warmth, and practical skills to support parents in their child’s growth. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys participating in yoga, barre, reading, hiking, biking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
