Priscilla Leyva, LPC Associate

(She/Her/Hers)

“Parenting comes with so many rewards, but also with challenges as we navigate what is best for our children. Your being on this page alone shows that you care so deeply about their wellbeing. It would be an honor to be a part of your family’s journey.”

Hello and welcome! I am so happy you have landed on my page and honor your determination to find a therapist that is a good fit for your family. My name is Priscilla Leyva (she/her) and I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT™) in training. I am under the clinical supervision of Rosalie Piedra, LPC-S, RPT-S™. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While I am proud of my academic achievements, what has really shaped my career is working with adhd and autistic children, teens, and adults for over seven years. Collaborating with other professionals (SPED teachers, BCBA’s, Occupational Therapists, and others who are doing amazing work in the neurodivergent community) and families has shaped me into the therapist that I am today!

I am particularly passionate about providing neurodiversity affirming services to the clients that I work with. I am trained in AutPlay therapy and utilize a person-centered approach, meaning your child (or you) will progress through counseling at a pace they are comfortable with. I value building rapport, trust, and collaboration with parents, and believe this is the foundation of my work.

I am trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy and enjoy using art, music, puppets, sandtray, and other forms of healing! ‘Meeting the child where they are’ is something I pride myself on and these therapies help me to do just that! For older clients, I invite them to use a medium of their choice as we progress through talk therapy, where I use an integrative approach honoring all parts of them (culture, religion, gender identity, etc.). I am trained in CBT interventions, mindfulness, and synergetic therapy – all possible therapies for you or your older child!

LGBTQ+ and gender identity concerns, self-esteem issues, selective mutism, self-harm, social navigation, and sensory needs are more passions of mine that I enjoy working through with clients!

Incorporating both in-person and virtual sessions allows me to work with a diverse population throughout the state of Texas. Lastly, I consider it a privilege to be a part of your family’s therapeutic journey and I look forward to working alongside your family to provide the best support for you or your child!
